Shed Fire in Lexington Park

On Monday, October 14, 2024, at approximately 12:55 p.m., Bay District Volunteer Fire Department units, alongside several local departments, were dispatched to the 20000 block of Renaissance Court in Lexington Park following reports of a structure fire.
Upon arrival, units found a shed fully engulfed in flames, with the fire rapidly spreading to a nearby wooded area. Crews from Bay District Volunteer Fire Department responded with multiple units, including Engine 32, Rescue Engine 92, Tower 9, Chief 9B, and Engine Tanker 34, deploying a total of 14 personnel.
Firefighters worked swiftly to contain and extinguish the blaze within 20 minutes. In total, crews operated on the scene for over an hour, ensuring all hot spots were eliminated and the area was secure. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident.
The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office is currently investigating the cause of the fire.
