By Bay District Volunteers
October 4, 2024

On Friday, October 4, 2024, at approximately 1:25 p.m., emergency medical services (EMS) were dispatched to Bollywood Masala, located at 23418 Three Notch Road, following a reported motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, EMS crews discovered a three-vehicle collision, with one of the vehicles having struck the restaurant building, resulting in structural damage.

Initially, the fire department had not been dispatched to the scene; however, after assessing the extent of the damage, EMS personnel contacted St. Mary’s County Communications to request a full motor vehicle accident (MVA) in a building response. Engine 91, Rescue Engine 92, Squad 3, and Chief 9B were subsequently dispatched.

Engine 91 arrived on scene and confirmed that one vehicle had collided with the restaurant, while two additional parked vehicles were also involved. Crews from Station 9 immediately assessed the structural damage to the building while EMS teams evaluated all individuals involved in the incident.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported. EMS obtained refusal of transport from all occupants of the vehicles. The St. Mary’s County Building Inspector was called to evaluate the structural integrity of the restaurant. Crews from Station 9 remained on site until the building was officially turned over to the inspector and the restaurant's staff. The building sustained only minor damage, and no significant disruptions were reported.
