By Bay District Volunteers
December 3, 2023

On Sunday, December 3, 2023, at 12:00 p.m., a routine medical call took an unexpected turn when a Lexington Park Volunteer Rescue Squad Ambulance stumbled upon a serious motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Three Notch Road and Rue Purchase Road in Lexington Park.

Additional first responders from the Lexington Park Volunteer Rescue Squad, Bay District Volunteer Fire Department, and additional medical personnel swiftly mobilized to the scene to address the critical situation. Upon arrival, they discovered a single vehicle off the roadway, having collided with a tree, and a sole occupant ejected, lying in the roadway.

Emergency medical personnel immediately initiated life-saving measures and successfully transported the injured party to MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital. Throughout the transit, resuscitation efforts were ongoing as the patient faced life-threatening injuries.

Our thoughts are with the individual involved, and we extend our sincere gratitude to the first responders who acted swiftly and professionally in managing this challenging situation.
