November 20, 2023

At 9:01 a.m. on Monday, November 20, 2023, Bay District Stations 3 & 9, along with area EMS companies, were swiftly dispatched to the intersection of Three Notch Road and Expedition Drive in Lexington Park, responding to a reported serious motor vehicle collision with entrapment.

Upon arrival, Rescue Engine 92 discovered a harrowing scene—a two-vehicle head-on collision in the Northbound lanes. Tragically, one individual was found trapped and unresponsive. Despite the valiant efforts of First Responders, the operator of the vehicle was pronounced deceased on the scene shortly after their arrival.

Recognizing the critical nature of the situation, emergency medical personnel promptly requested a helicopter for the operator of the second vehicle, underlining the severity of the injuries sustained in this devastating incident.

The Bay District Fire Department extends its deepest condolences to the family and friends affected by this tragedy. Our thoughts are with all those impacted during this difficult time.
