On Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at 7:41 a.m., Bay District Stations 3 & 9 and surrounding EMS stations sprang into action when they were dispatched to the intersection of Great Mills Road and Chancellors Run Road in Lexington Park in response to a reported motor vehicle collision with a vehicle on fire.

Upon arrival at the scene, emergency response crews discovered a two-vehicle head-on collision. Fortunately, there was no entrapment involved, and contrary to the initial report, no fire was observed. Furthermore, all vehicle occupants were found to have sustained only minor to no injuries.

The prompt and effective response by Bay District Stations 3 & 9 personnel ensured the safety and wellbeing of those involved in the incident. One patient, who sustained minor injuries, was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital for further medical evaluation and care. In a testament to the rapid assessment and quality of care provided by our first responders, a second patient chose to sign a refusal form on the scene, indicating no immediate medical attention was necessary.

This incident highlights the dedication and professionalism of the emergency response teams at Bay District Stations 3 & 9, who are committed to ensuring the safety of the community and providing timely assistance during challenging situations.
