By Bay District Volunteers
September 27, 2023

On Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at around 6:40 a.m., a motor vehicle collision with a vehicle on fire was reported at the intersection of Forest Park Road and Pine Hill Run Road in Lexington Park. In response, police, fire, and rescue personnel swiftly arrived at the scene.

Upon arrival, the fire and rescue teams found themselves faced with a three-vehicle collision, fortunately resulting in no injuries. However, two of the vehicles was engulfed in flames, creating a potentially dangerous situation.

Firefighters quickly took control of the situation, working diligently to extinguish the blaze that had consumed both vehicles in the roadway, while another vehicle had veered off the road. Remarkably, all occupants had managed to exit their vehicles safely, and there were no reported injuries.

In addition to the local responders, personnel from Bay District, NAS Patuxent River, and Ridge also arrived to provide assistance. The collaborative effort of these teams allowed them to effectively manage the incident, and after approximately one hour of intensive work, the situation was brought under control.

The prompt and coordinated response from all involved agencies greatly enhanced the safety and well-being of those involved in this potentially hazardous collision.
