This morning at 04:04, Bay District Stations 9 and 3 received an alert for an auto accident on Three Notch Road in California, reporting people trapped. Rescue Engine 92 promptly arrived at the scene and confirmed a single vehicle accident with the vehicle on its side and one occupant trapped. The skilled crew from Rescue Engine 92 swiftly initiated stabilization efforts.

Shortly thereafter, Squad 3 arrived to provide crucial assistance with the extrication process. Working together efficiently, the teams successfully extricated the sole patient in just eight minutes. The patient was then handed over to the waiting EMS crews. The EMS team quickly assessed the patient's condition and determined the necessity of transferring the patient to a trauma center.

In response to the critical situation, they called upon MSP Aviation (Trooper 7) for medevac assistance. However, due to adverse weather conditions, all medevac helicopters were grounded as per the Systems Communications Center (SYSCOM) update. Adapting swiftly to the circumstances, Ambulance 387C initiated ground transport to the University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center in Largo, MD.

However, as the patient's condition evolved, necessitating a change in plans, the ambulance transport was redirected to MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital for care. The dedication and coordination exhibited by all involved in this operation played a vital role in ensuring the best possible outcome for the patient.
