Reported Brush fire turns into Commercial Building Fire |

On April 25th, 2013 Company 3 was alerted for a brush fire in the area of the Spring Ridge Middle School. Brush 3 (Vanness) and Engine 33 (Mahaffey) responded on the run. Brush 3 arrived to find fire showing from a window at Spring Ridge Middle School and requested the box to be filled for same. Filling the assignment added Companies 9, 4, 6, 13, 7, 5, Station 39, Company 49, and Station 38. Brush 3's crew made attack from the exterior until the arrival of Engine 33. Upon arrival of engine 33, the crew deployed a 200' pre-connect and advanced it to the seat of the fire. Chief 3A (Wahrenbrock) Arrived on location and Established the command. E-93 arrived on location and deployed their drop tank for water supply. T-3 arrived on location and reported to side with the vent group. After about 5 minutes the bulk of the fire had been knocked down and overhaul and ventilation was underway. Units operated on the scene for approx. 2 1/2 hours before wrapping up.
