MVA with Extrication
By Bay District Volunteers
November 10, 2016
Just before 8 AM Company 3 was dispatched for a motor vehicle accident. Rescue 3 responded shortly after dispatch.
Once on scene it was discovered to be a head on style accident involving 2 vehicles. One occupant had suffered a broken leg. To make it easier on that occupant Rescue 3 made a 3rd door conversion to the drivers side. Now the crew could remove the occupant without causing more pain or injury to the patient. Due to the injury Trooper 7 was requested for the patient. Engine 33 responded and handled the landing zone. Rescue 3 was able to clear the scene within 40 minutes and was dispatched to another MVA before returning to quarters.
